ABOUT ME
HI, I'm Fern, the designer and founder behind PIM CHA NOK. Based in Brisbane, I create handmade pieces inspired by my love of fashion, Thai heritage and everyday Australian life. Each piece is thoughtfully designed to be stylish, practical and made with purpose - with giving back at the heart of what I do.

For as long as I can remember, I've dreamed of creating something that was truly my own. I'm a fashion graduate from Ireland, and this brand is a little piece of my inspiration, my culture, and my journey.

About
PIM CHA NOK
The name PIMCHANOK comes from my first name, which was specially chosen for me by my mum. Although Fern is the nickname I’ve always gone by, my legal first name is Pimchanok.
In Thai, Pimchanok is typically spelled
พิมพ์ชนก. However, when my mum was choosing my name, she researched the spelling according to my date of birth and believed that พิมชนก was the more suitable spelling for me.
I’ve always felt that this name is uniquely mine. It carries a personal connection to my family, my identity, and the thought my mum put into choosing it for me.
When I began creating my fashion brand, PIMCHANOK felt like the perfect name. It represents something personal rather than simply being a brand name — it is a part of who I am, reimagined through fashion and my own creative vision.
In 2019, during Year 12, I was part of the Brisbane Fashion Show as KG Bold with my classmate Tayte. That was an amazing experience, and it's what inspired me to want to go to Europe to continue my fashion studies.

I went to Ireland for a family holiday in 2020, and then COVID hit — which ended up making the decision for me to study at Griffith College in Dublin. I didn't have a portfolio with me, because I hadn't planned on showcasing my fashion. They gave me a month to put one together and show them my skills, so they could place me in either a standard Bachelor's or a Bachelor of Honours in Fashion.
I worked really hard that month, and I managed to land a spot in the three-year honours class.

The first two years were very difficult because of COVID. Everything moved online, and we had to social distance — but my classmates and I got through it. It was a fun, interesting, and stressful few years of uni.
I began to miss Brisbane. I missed the sunshine and the community here.
I came to Australia in 2010, at the age of nine, from a small village in Nakhon Sawan, Thailand. Brisbane taught me the Australian way of life — how to be independent, to speak freely about my opinions and feelings, to have my own thoughts and dream. Australian schools taught me to read and write in English. I arrived with no English at all, only knowing how to introduce myself.
I'm so proud to bring together my Thai heritage and the Western way of life I found in Australia in my final graduated collection.
I wanted to create pieces that are beautiful, practical, and made to be part of everyday life. And I wanted to give back to the Australian community too.
I'm so proud to be partnering with the Mini Farm Project in Queensland as a philanthropic partner. Not many people realise that hunger is a real problem here in Australia too — over a million Australian children go without enough food each year, and three million households struggle just to put food on the table. No one in a country like ours should have to go hungry.
That's what Mini Farm Project is working to change. They build charity farms across Queensland, growing fresh food that's given freely to families and communities who need it — and as a registered charity, every dollar donated goes straight back into that work.
I wanted to support them because I grew up on a farm myself, so I know firsthand how hard that work is — and how much it means when a community shows up for the people behind it.
With every bag purchased from this collection, will be donated to support the Mini Farm Project and the meaningful work they do within our community.
For me, fashion has always been about more than just creating something beautiful. I want to create pieces that carry a little more meaning and make a positive difference beyond what we wear.
This is just the beginning — but I'm so grateful that my first bag collection can be part of something bigger.

Icon: Simplicity is the New Luxury draws on Vivienne Westwood's philosophy — "buy less, choose well, make it last." Inspired by Bangkok's Icon Siam, the collection blends Southeast Asian and Western influences through a neutral palette, wool-mixed and light crepe fabrics, and clean, minimal detailing. Timeless and refined, it's made for the independent, trend-free luxury customer.
